Radisson Mining (TSXV: RDS) released three step-out holes from its 140,000-metre program at the O'Brien Gold Project in Québec's Abitibi greenstone belt, led by the project's highest-ever drill result: 1,604 g/t Au (1.60 kg/t) over 1.0 metre. On its own, a kilogram-plus gold hit over a single metre tells you very little — coarse-gold systems like O'Brien routinely throw off assays like this, and the nugget effect can flatter one sample dramatically.
What makes the hole credible is the envelope. That 1.0 m sits within 316 g/t Au over 5.1 metres — and 316 g/t over five-plus metres is a genuinely high-grade intercept in its own right, not a single lucky assay. The ultra-high sample is hosted in continuously mineralised vein, which is the difference between a number that promotes a stock and one that could feed a mine.
The standing caveat at O'Brien-style vein systems is true width: these are core lengths, and until Radisson publishes the vein geometry the true width may be materially less than 5.1 m.
